I’m regularly asked how long the drive from Limerick to Belfast takes and when I reply, some people are aghast. I’m used to the drive having been doing it regularly since 2004 but can totally understand why others may be reluctant to undertake it. But trust me, the drive is worth it when you reach your destination.
One of my 2015 goals was to bring a group of food lovers to Belfast for a weekend. Thanks to a collaboration with O Callaghan Coach Holidays in Killarney, Co Kerry, the goal has become a reality and from 9-11 October I’ll be hosting O Callaghan’s first ever Belfast Food Trail
I have had such a great time putting the trip together which includes some of my favourite culinary hotspots in Belfast and a couple of great pit stops along the way.
From a Shortcross Gin tasting on the Jilly Dougan designed Rooftop Edible Garden at the Europa Hotel (Jilly will be there for chats also) to the Belfast Food Tour by Ulster Food Hero, Caroline Wilson and dining in the award winning trio OX, Graze and Hartes of Kildare, this trip will require empty bellies and stretchy pants.
The luxury coach leaves Killarney and we will be happy to collect you en route to Belfast. So if you are in Abbeyfeale, Newcastle West, Adare, Limerick or even Dublin, jump aboard!
For full details and to book, visit O Callaghan’s website or give them a call on 064 6631095. You can also hear me talking about the trip at this link
So who fancies a lift to Belfast in October with me and 19 others?
